Legos. The building revolution begins here (at least for me).Legos. You know, I love the wee bitty bits of plastic. Sometimes more than life itself it seems. I started playing with the little things back when I was bit a wee lad. Apparently I was playing with them since before I can remember. I have pieces that I have no idea where they came from, but Mum says she got them for me, bless her heart. As you wander through, you'll see 2 main sections so far, listed as links on the left. Here's a list of stuff you may see here in the future!
There are some places I've found to be indispensable while doing research and wandering around on the web:
LUGNET™ is the LEGO Users Group Network. LUGNET™ unites LEGO fans worldwide through discussion groups, web pages, and services. As an independent site by fans, for fans, it is neither owned nor operated by the LEGO Company. I like it because It has all sorts of information about every set ever made. Users can post comments & rate sets. There are forums to chat with, and you can list your sets. That opens a whole new set of information. See who has your set, or wants it, or is selling it, or what sets are in the same theme or year. I have my sets listed there, and here is my LUGNET Homepage.
Peeron LEGO© Inventories is a partial listing of the parts in official LEGO© sets, with illustrations of parts where possible and cross-referencing to show what (inventoried) sets include a given part. Who cares? It's an awesome research tool that's easy to use. If you know you have a piece & want to know what set it belongs to, it'll tell you. Want to know if you can build a certain set, it'll tell you. Missing a couple of pieces & want to know what they're called & where to find em, it'll tell you. Did I mention it's easy to use? Want more? Try this one for size: There are 4300 sets with 8092 elements listed, almost all with pictures. And that doesn't include the different colors.
Brickset is a UK based group with the web's best guide to LEGO sets past and present. Search for sets you are interested in, then read reviews by other Brickset visitors before you buy or bid. You can't beat their reviews. There's also a Minifig & Theme browser that's pretty darn cool! You can see their Top Rated Sets from their collection of 3095 reviewed sets.
