Small Space Craft

Small Space Craft, based on the Classic Space Theme.

Various little craft, made by myself & my sister.  These were based on a couple of real principles: Minifigs had to be able to sit in it, and it had have at least 4 rockets for propulsion, and look cool.  As you can see, these rules held most of the time, but not always!

This is one of my favorite models.  I called it the "Jackrabbit".  It seemed sleek, triangular (always good for personal spaceships you know!), the guy could sit upright.  It seemed balanced front to back, realistic, and had cool landing skis.

This should be called the "Death Glider".  Only rocket propelled glider I know of.  It wasn't so much a glider as a flat chunk of material with 2 rockets & a rudder.

If you are especially anal, you'll notice the stovetop tile from a very very old Kitchen set.

  What was this again?

This was made with the very generous aid of a bunch of railroad ties.

A colorful diversion at best.  I got to use hoses!  And radar dishes as propulsion?  C'mon!

This one was built the same time as the one below it.  They are both tangents of the Galaxy Commander.

This one is a simple fixed-wing variant.

Same as above, but this is the variable-wing variant.  I loved the front nosepieces so much, they appear unaltered on many of my models.

this is actually another offshoot of the Galaxy Commander.  Man I loved that set.  Anyway, I wish I had more pics of this because it was cool inside, not this fat bloated ship shown.  The 2 center panels slid open sideways to reveal a cavernous interior.

  Curse my crap B&W photos.

More curses directed toward my crappy B&W phase.  It was a summer school class between 7th grade & High School.  I took & developed the film & prints myself though!  OK ok stop laughing already.

This was Black Commander's personal craft.

It could take off & land vertically, and had a ridiculously large rocket strapped right on the back.

I liked the ladders & landing gear I put on there.  It made for better maneuverability around corners since there were only 2 inline jets on the bottom.

This is one of the cooler designs I think.  it's sleek, uses hoses in logical places, dual propulsion, and the operator can sit upright!  Throw in good balanced design with dual wings like the Viggen fighter jet, and it's a winner all around.
