When the 2003
vehicles came out, there was this cool feature (we
didn't think of it as a feature any more than the
buttons on your steering wheel being lit was a feature)
where when the front doors were opened, lights in the
bottom of the door came on. It was a nice
touch, and helped guide where the key was supposed to
go. It made one think Saab cared about where one
stepped when entering & exiting one's precious vehicle.
The lights are on the front doors only, not the rear
doors.
If you
didn't have it, you'd probably never know it was
missing.

Typically found on model year 2003 vehicles.
Installation is unknown to me. It could be simply
a matter of removing the door panel & plugging it in, or
perhaps a whole harness is needed. If you do this
mod & have any info to add, please email me so this page
can be updated, and share with the rest of the folks!
You can find more info from SaabCentral
here. If you're so inclined, use this handy
schematic to try and tinker around.
You can find door panel removal instructions
