When the 2003
vehicles came out, there was this cool feature (we
didn't think of it as a feature any more than the
buttons on your steering wheel being lit was a feature)
where when the lights came on in the vehicle, so did the
4 words on the ignition switch. It was a nice
touch, and helped guide where the key was supposed to
go.
If you
didn't have it, you'd probably never know it was
missing. It is rumored to have changed due to a
different supplier. The new non-lit one is
considerably cheaper.
I do not know
if there are other differences in the module other than
the lighted words.

Installation is rather difficult as it involves
removing most if not all of the center console.
