This details
the exhaust system with the downturned or hidden exhaust
pipes.
The exhaust system is complex, and differs for diesel &
petrol.
There are many different methods, types and ways to
upgrade, all of which can be dedicated to it's own
website. If you are looking to upgrade, please see a
reputable muffler sop, or consult with others at
SaabCentral who have performed similar upgrades.
The exhaust system is such that there are 2 silencers.
One is mid-body, and one is at the full rear. You can
see components to the right.
One easy upgrade is to get the
9-3 Twin Sport Exhaust System or the
9-3 Aero-Look Sport Exhaust upgraded muffler to the
rear.
If you are entertaining this, you may have downturned
pipes & no cutout in the rear bumper skirt. A cutout
will have to be made & a trim piece put on. The kits
include only the rear muffler and a clamp. You can find
installation instructions for the rear silencer
(muffler)
here and the rear skirt cutout
here.
The illustrations depict how the exhaust system is laid
out. The Petrol (Gas) exhaust shows all petrol systems,
for Linear, Arc & Aero. Different models have different
parts. The illustration is just an idea of how the
system is made up.
What I want is just the tip in different styles, but I
haven't been able to find that yet.
Typically found in USA, Great Britain, Canada,
Australia, The Netherlands, Russia.
